Validity and reliability of adapted Bengali version of self-assessment questionnaire to assess Prakriti

Background: The constitutional type of a human being, the Prakriti, depends on relativity three Doshas – Kapha, Pitta, and Vata. Assessment Prakriti requires expertise in inspection, palpation, interview. There are self-administered questionnaires English that can assess Prakriti.
 Aim: We aimed to adapt an questionnaire - “self-assessment Prakriti” Bangla test its validity reliability assessment Methods: adapted by forward backward translation. conducted pre-test interview with 36 research participants. An Ayurveda physician assessed traditional method. was tested comparing expert-assessed questionnaire-assed Prakriti. internal consistency Chronbach’s alpha Intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC).
 Results: A total (men 21, women 15) participants mean age 36.01± 3.44 participated pre-test, interview, retest. Adapted is found be valid for It reliable terms (Chronbach’s 0.64, 0.76, 0.81 Vata, respectively) repeatability (test-retest ICC 0.88, 0.91, 0.79 respectively).
